Sony is pushing megapixels like nobody’s business and their A7R II demonstrates their engineering prowess with the industry’s first back-illuminated full-frame sensor. The camera boasts a massive 42 megapixel sensor, a big upgrade from the previous model’s 36 megapixel sensor. It’s also increases sensitivity to up to 102400 ISO and is 40% faster thanks to its 399 focal plane phase detection AF points.

Other features include 5-axis image stabilization that is specifically tuned for the 42 megapixel sensor and you get full 4K video capability that also allows you to shoot in a cropped Super 35mm frame or in full-frame mode.

Other features include built-in Wifi, a 2.3 million dot EVF, a tilting LCD display, and of course compatibility with Sony’s growing library of FE full-frame lenses.
